As the French government begins to loosen restrictions for large gatherings following a decrease in Covid-19 cases and a strong vaccination campaign, organizers of the Cannes Yachting Festival are expecting that this year’s event will take place.

The show is scheduled for Sept. 7-12.

“We are working in close collaboration with the city of Cannes and the Palais des Festivals to welcome our exhibitors and our visitors in the best possible conditions,” show director Sylvie Ernoult said in a statement.

Event organizer Reed Exhibitions said it has seen a 10 percent increase in exhibitor registrations compared with 2019, the last time the event was held. Last year’s show was canceled in late August due to the pandemic.
