Robert Allen Law partner Umberto Bonavita served as lead counsel to the Buyer of the 44.5-metre Sanlorenzo superyacht “Kamakasa”. The transaction, closing August 2023, involved months of technical matters, cross-border legal, structuring, and other complexities. It was a high-stakes superyacht transaction involving a broad range of jurisdictions (Cayman Islands, France, Italy, the United States, and certain Asian jurisdictions) led by Mr. Bonavita and successfully concluding for the Buyer. Kamakasa, a 44.5m Sanlorenzo, was launched in 2020 with a beam of 9m, a draught of 2.3m and a volume of 483 GT.
